Grammar: Verb to be and Present Simple

When you begin to learn English, speaking and building up your vocabulary is more important than worrying about correct grammar. However, as you progress you need to incorporate more grammar into your learning programme. This page will teach you the structure and use of the simple present tense in English. Present simple
El Present simple, també anomenat indicatiu, és el temps verbal més simple de l'anglès.

S'utilitza per parlar de rutines o accions habituals, expressar fets generals i veritats científiques. La frase es construeix així: 

Persona + auxiliar Do o Does + verb infinitiu + complements ( si és el cas)

El auxiliar Do s'utilitza amb la primera persona del singular i del plural (I and We), amb la segona persona del singular i del plural (You and You) i la tercera persona del plural (They). Mentres que l'auxiliar Does s'utilitza amb la tercera persona del plural ( He, She and It).

Tot i això, quan fem una frase en afirmatiu, l'auxiliar Do es pot suprimir i el Does es substitueix, com a norma general, per un -s darrera el verb.

D'altra banda, per construir una frase en negatiu, l'únic que cal és posar l'auxiliar Do o Does més not, és a dir, don't o doesn't.

A més, si volem fer una pregunta cal que canviem l'estructura de la frase:

Do o Does + persona + verb + complements( si és el cas)

I finalment, si volem contestar una pregunta s'utilizarà:

Yes o No + , + persona + Do / Don't o Does/Doesn't.
